Bridge Work adalah penggantian satu atau dua gigi ompong dengan sistem \u201cjembatan\u201d, dimana gigi yang hilang diganti dengan material khusus serupa gigi dan ditopang gigi-gigi di sebelahnya dengan cara direkatkan atau disemen. Berbeda dengan dentures, bridge work bersifat permanen yang tidak bisa dilepas pasang. Yang perlu diperhatikan jika memutuskan menggunakan bridge work bahwauntuk menopang gigi pengganti (pontic), diperlukan 2(dua) gigi tetangga yang akan dipasangi mahkota penopang, ini berartikedua gigi tersebut harusdikecikan. Di sisi lain, bila di kemudian hari ada masalah atau kerusakan pada salah satu dari gigi pengganti maupun gigi penopang, maka semua gigi termasuk gigi penopang yang sehat harus di restorasi ulang.
